WHERE WAS I?
I am probably super late on this, but it is truly incredible. Response to So-Me’s post about Bernard Purdie the other day.
PS: Props to my man Olivier Rosset and his Highsnobiety blog for the heads-up.

Yes, yes, second Four Tops song this week, I know. But these basslines drive me crazy, and those Minor/Major changes are really unique in the history of Pop music-save the Beach Boys and those guys from Liverpool. Liverpool! My bromantic partner Riton and I come speak the good words this saturday at Chibuku. Indeed, reach out, we’ll be there.
M. April 1st, 2009COOL CATS: ANNIE MAC & FAKE BLOOD
FAKE BLOOD is a man of many mysteries, which I bet you know of by now: he’s a remarkable DJ and producer, an uncanny Woody Harrelson lookalike, and the vague cousin of DJ Touché, the composer of this crazy ZOMBIES track (where did you get that bassline from??).
ANNIE MAC, well, she doesn’t really need an introduction, does she? I’d rather friendly dedicate her and Lucy this POINTER SISTERS song (Pilooski Edit yo), and let you peeps know how much I thank and respect these Irish/Welsh/British (whatever) blokes.
Thank god for the Eurostar,
M.
Annie, you really are a triple threat.
