GUEST COOLCAT: CLARA 3000

![]() ![]() July 2nd, 2009GUEST COOLCAT: CLARA 3000
Peeps, meet CLARA 3000.
When she’s not interning at the Rainbow People Coalition Party (aka ED BANGER RECORDS), Clara’s representing Paris DJ-ing future around the world and around the clock. She’s also the most amazing dancehall dancer at the office. And last but not least, she’s the great silent observer of the crew and the author of those pictures above (from the Sonar/Ibiza lost weekend). One day she might write a non-authorized book on the rise and fall of the Club75, you’ll better believe it.
CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT MY RADIO
Sony’s Walkman is 30 years old today. I remember my first, quite similar to this one. A colleague from my mom’s work offered it to me for my 11th birthday. I went to the neighborhood grocery store to buy some batteries, the cheapest ones. They lasted like 3 hours. I was listening to CHEB KHALED’s third album non stop. Another souvenir from my Walkman days: I always wanted the ones that had a ‘Record’ function, and a ‘Line In’ plug. I bought like 10 of those, and still have them. I never actually used them but I was in my BLOW OUT’s John Travolta period. To this day, I’m still fascinated by the idea of capturing life on a tape. The process of transforming sound into magnetic particles and fixing it onto a piece of plastic might be the most interesting thing I ever learned in Miss Parisel’s Physics class. CHECK THE SONY WALKMAN HISTORY. July 1st, 2009FROM THE VAULT: THE NOTORIOUS ONE
Peeps, Unofficial 2003 style, listen to this: THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G. ‘Nasty Boy’ DJ Mehdi Remix My friend Olivier from FAIRTILIZER told me “Unofficial remixes are the new demo”. And it’s always a pleasure when I hear unsolicited remixes of, say, Signatune or Pocket Piano. Inspiring other people is a great feeling. In that sense, the B.I.G legacy is tremendous, let alone Michael Jackson’s.
